A summer holiday is not the time to fuss with a full face of makeup, as Gigi Hadid can attest. The model just enjoyed a beachy trip with some friends in the Cayman Islands, where she swam, sunbathed and enjoyed a platter of delicious-looking oysters — all without a stitch of liner, bronzer or lipstick on her gorgeous visage.
Gigi shared a series of pics from her tropical trip on Instagram, giving followers an up-close-and-personal look at her makeup-free face. (OK, maybe she was wearing a little bit of bright coral lip colour in one pic, but the point stands regardless.) Her skin is shimmering in the sun, her hair is either slicked back in an effortless bun or in the perfect wet look waves and she is, by all accounts, unbothered and relishing some much-needed R&R with her closest pals. I would be too if I were in her shoes… or lack thereof. I especially love the white scrunchie around her wrist, ready and waiting for a classic messy post-ocean updo.
Cracking those new years resolutions, early.
ICYMI, Gigi was briefly arrested and fined $1,000 for marijuana possession upon arrival to the Cayman Islands, pled guilty and was released with no charges on her record. “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a Medical license,” her rep told People. “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

The model did pack some makeup for her trip, however. In one quick video from what looks to be a night out, Gigi did reach for a hint of highlighter to make the most of said summer glow. Her hair is pulled back into a glamorous low bun and she's wearing a bit of contour and highlighter for definition, but minimal makeup otherwise. In general, Gigi Hadid doesn't apply her makeup with a heavy hand; unless she's on the runway in a pitch-black oversized cat eye, wearing grey lipstick for an event, bleaching her brows or getting painted up for editorial, she sticks to the basics and rarely deviates from her California girl look. (And like any true Cali girl, we know Gigi was slicking on SPF every two hours while out in the sun and keeping her face protected with a baseball cap too.)
It seems like all of our favourite celebrities are on vacation right now, including Gigi's fellow model Hailey Bieber, who rocked a trending latte eye and teeny bun for some summer fun and Janelle Monáe, who opted for honey blonde loc space buns in Ibiza.
