Michelle Basci, Senior Practice Manager

  • About me:   I’m a mom to two children, ages 12 and 14, and three dogs. I grew up in Clear Lake, graduated from Texas A&M. (Gig’em Aggies!) I’m animal lover and have successfully passed this trait on to my daughter, who is as soft-hearted as I am with animals in need.

  • How long at UTMB: 22 years

  • Best thing about my job: The staff and providers that work here in Texas City; knowing every day will be different and being able to help our patients!

  • Most challenging thing about my job: Front-line jobs in the customer service industry are TOUGH and it’s hard to hear when these staff are not treated with all the respect they deserve.

  • My favorite quote: “When your children are teenagers, it’s important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you”—Nora Ephron

  • My heroes: My parents are the reason I am who I am today. They raised my sister and I in a house full of love and support and continue to serve as role models for me and my kids.

  • My life outside of work: Acting as an Uber service for kids–my son is a freshman who plays basketball for Clear Springs and my daughter plays volleyball and hopes to play next year in seventh grade. Working in the yard, going to the gym, walking and talking to everyone in the neighborhood, hanging with friends and family!

  • My life in six words: Two teenagers, think that’s enough said.
