South Jersey entrepreneur finds success with clothing brand 8THWNDR

HAMMONTON — Sal Glorioso, founder of 8THWNDR LLC, is earning success through hard work and his family’s support.

The 21-year-old Hammonton High School graduate started the online street clothing brand when he was 16 with the goal of providing affordable clothing for skaters.

"When I was in high school, I couldn't really afford high-end apparel such as Supreme or Palace even though I really wanted it," says Glorioso. "That’s where I got the idea to make street wear at an affordable price for everybody."

8THWNDR's business model is unique, offering two different $8 T-shirts monthly along with hoodies, jackets, pants and more through social media.

Glorioso refers to each new apparel grouping as a "drop” which frequently sells out.

"We always drop on a Thursday and end on Sunday night. Those four days are the only time that the limited edition clothing is available. Every design is new each month," explained Glorioso.

Sal isn't the only one celebrating the brand's success, a success which includes a lucrative deal with International retail clothing vendor Zumiez.

"I'm really excited that I'm in Zumiez now, a lot of their stores nationwide and on their online retail shop. I'll be expanding with new collections with them soon which is very exciting,” Glorioso added.

Kathy Glorioso, Sal's mom, is extremely proud of her son and of his decision to keep the business a family affair. She helps with customer service. Sal's dad Tony helps with accounting and budgeting. His brother Dominic helps with shipping.

"When it first started in 2017 I thought it was a passing fad and didn't really have expectations for success,” but it really has turned into a successful venture for the entire family with each of us playing an integral role in the businesses success," said Kathy Glorioso.

Sal Glorioso said he could have left home a while ago but made the decision to stay and run the business from his parent's home in Hammonton, keeping the operation a grounded, family affair. "It's not often you see parents as involved and care about their son's business. It’s great. I couldn’t have gotten to where I'm at today without their help.”
