After an electrifying win at the dome two weeks ago over NC State, things have went south for Syracuse. Here is why Carlos Del-Rio Wilson should start moving forward.

Since the big win over the Wolfpack, the Orange have lost their last two. One on the road to Clemson and another at home against Notre Dame.

Throughout the two losses, the numbers for current starter, Garrett Shrader, have not been pretty. It got so bad that it led to Shrader being benched in the second half against Notre Dame. In the two games Garrett Shrader went a combined 23/40, throwing for just 202 yards. He had just two touchdowns and also threw two picks.

After his insertion into the lineup, Wilson went 11 for 22 throwing for 190 yards and a touchdown

Del-Rio Wilson seemed to provide the Orange with a bit of a spark. After coming in, Syracuse went a 10-0 run to pull within a touchdown. There was a chance to tie the game late but Del-Rio Wilson threw an interception off a deflection that wasn’t all his fault.

All in all, Del-Rio Wilson looked comfortable in the pocket, had zip on his passes, and showed he was more than capable as a runner. He also showed an ability to be decisive and efficiently go through his reads. This was something Shrader has struggled with through much of his career.

The Sophomore, Carlos Del-Rio Wilson, originally committed to Florida under Dan Mullen. He was ranked 146th in his class according to 247 Sports.

The talent and track record is there for Del-Rio Wilson. He has all the tools to succeed within this Syracuse offense and now is the time for Dino Babers to give him his shot.
