Golden Retriever Has Most Joyful Response to Meeting New Puppy Sibling

Even though some dogs prefer to stick to their own company, tons of pups would be excited to have a best friend. That's a huge reason why many one-dog families decide to adopt a second fur baby, and it's almost always a raving success. Just ask Millie the Golden Retriever!

This sweet pup was promoted to Big Sister on September 30, and her reaction was one for the books. Her equally excited family let her uncover the surprise all on her own--literally! When the Golden Retriever puppy's head popped out of the basket, the older pup just couldn't contain herself.

Aww! This is the perfect way to introduce an older dog to a new puppy, and everyone is all smiles. Especially Millie--the older Golden Retriever! Her excited sniffing was such a joy to watch, but my favorite thing was her wagging tail. It was flying so fast, she could've taken off like an airplane! Luckily, she was still on the ground when her family made the big reveal.

We agree 100% with commenter @blessedmamamimirn who asked, "If this isn't proof that our fur babies need best friends," what is? So true! Many dogs thrive in the right company and Golden Retrievers are no exception.

Retrievers make up some of the most social and friendly dog breeds thanks to their history as hunting companions. I believe this friendliness is what makes many Retriever breeds so popular! Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers hold the 3rd and 2nd spots (respectively) in the American Kennel Club's list of most popular dog breeds in 2022. By the looks of this video, it seems like Retrievers are popular among each other, too!

Mollie and her new puppy sibling are already living their best lives together, even though they just met. Their owner even posted a second video to their TikTok page @@golden_millie.moe.

It's playtime! It must be so much fun to have a puppy sibling who will run, play, and romp around with you... when you're in the mood for it, anyway! A rambunctious pup can be a lot for anyone to handle sometimes, but a love like their is oh-so-worth it!
