How can I use this labelled map of the world with my class?

This colourful, simplistic map of the world is a great way to familiarise your Geography class with the seven continents and names of each ocean such as the Pacific and Atlantic. Use this printable map as a classroom display or for a range of fun activities. You may like to ask your class to label countries they have been to on holiday, or plan their dream trip around the world.

    How many countries are on the World Map?

    There are 195 recognised countries in the world today which can be found marked on a map of the world. These countries belong to seven distinct continents, with a shared population of over 7.5 billion people. The country with the largest population is China, which is home to over 1.4 billion people as of 2019.
