RAT HELL

I’m ‘under siege’ from giant RATS and drug addicts outside my house – I just want my children to be safe

A MUM has claimed her home is under siege from giant RATS while drug dealers are constantly lurking outside.

The woman, who asked not to be named, said she struggles to sleep at night due to noisy rodents scratching in her room.

The mum-of-three, from Dublin, Ireland, also lives outside a drug clinic, and says she is regularly offered drugs in front of her kids during the school run.

She told Dublin Live: "We are infested with rats, damp and mould.

"We live facing the drug clinic, and when you are walking out your door to bring your children to school, you have people from the clinic coming up to you asking 'are you looking for stuff' in front of your small children.

"There are tablet packets on the stairs. People are drinking and shouting all night."

She added she heard a rat this morning around 3am" and she "can't live here".

The woman, who moved into her flat three years ago, said she was recently forced to kill one rat she found near her washing machine.

But the pesky rodents are just the tip of the iceberg inside her ground floor flat.

The frustrated mum said a draining company had to come to the rescue after sewage problems left her home stinking throughout.

Rubbish is also constantly being left outside the block, she says, while her family have not had hot water or an oven for the last six weeks.

The ongoing issues have left the mum terrified for her children's health, with the "freezing" temperatures inside meaning her six-year-old daughter "always has a cold".

She said it's been "one thing after the other" and her mental health has deteriorated as a result.

The mum added: "I want to be moved and they are telling me six weeks. I can't spend another six weeks in this property. It's not safe at all."
