Carla Bruni, wife of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, has been in New York promoting her album, Little French Songs.
“I did wait until my husband was not the president anymore,” she told an interviewer. “But I also waited because I had a baby girl.”
The album features a love song called Mon Raymond, which Bruni says she wrote for her husband but chose an alias.
“Nicolas” was used before by another singer — and she wanted an easier name with which to rhyme.
