Obituary

Luis "NiNi" Galarza 3rd, 37, of Meriden, CT, Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, Tio, Nephew, Cousin and friend to many, Went into eternal rest unexpectedly on the morning of March 19th, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother Janet Perez-DeJesus, Grandmother Evangelista Valentin-Ramirez, his Grandfathers Luis Galarza Senior and Severino Lopez, his Uncle Tio Tono, his cousin Elizabeth Rosario and many beloved family and friends.

He leaves behind his Wife Kelly Sullivan, Sons Isaac Galarza and Tajon Smalls,  his Father Luis Galarza Jr, Step Father Freddy DeJesus, and his Grandmother Auria Galarza. He also leaves behind his Brothers Freddy Dejesus Jr, Tyler Galarza, Jesse Galarza, Carlos Rodriguez Jr., Joshua Hernandez, his Sisters Eliza Hernandez, Stephanie Lorenzo, Carmen Aguliar, Priscilla Tristanis and Emily Crespo; in addition to many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins in Connecticut,  Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, California, Ecuador and Puerto Rico.

To know Luis was to know a passion and electricity of love for family and friends, for laughter and for life itself. Luis entering the room was like…be ready! Here he comes… and he always left a glow of lightness for others in his wake. Luis loved people and loved to share his enthusiasm for every day moments. He saw genuine value in others and made sure they knew it and built bridges of growth for those around him because of it. He was a man who walked his talk, who stood strong on his values and celebrated bonds that lasted a lifetime. He enjoyed a deep love with his mother and a relationship with his father that extended deeper into friendship and that of a trusted life comrade. Luis enjoyed good home cooking by his aunts, Good music and a good time, especially with a healthy dose of sarcasm woven in.

Luis was a lover of children, all children, and his greatest source of pride has always been his boys, Isaac and Tajon…As It would be through their shared devotion and enduring love that he would define himself most.

Luis stood as a deeply loyal and loving partner to Kelly for whom a million more years together may never have been enough time to share and enjoy such an extraordinary journey of love and friendship. To know such love but once in a lifetime is a gift that escapes many…to know a lasting security of love in the arms of another and to have them hold dear that which defines you is what that love is and was and will always be.

Luis will be greatly missed by everyone who had the fortune to know him.

Luis’ family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Friday, March 25, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10 a.m.  Final resting place will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
