Morena Baccarin not only revealed that she is pregnant with “Gotham” co-star Ben McKenzie’s baby, but she also has plans to marry him.
Despite her intention to walk down the aisle again, the 36-year-old actress has to divorce her husband, director Austin Chick with whom she shares a nearly two-year-old son named Julius.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Baccarin claims she got pregnant by McKenzie in June after she had separated from Chick.
However her estranged spouse disagrees and alleges that she conceived while they were still together. Chick filed for divorce this past June after nearly four years of marriage.
“Today, I am in a new committed relationship. I am planning to remarry. Also, I am 3 1/2 months pregnant,” she wrote.
The pregnancy news was revealed after Baccarin filed documents on Sept. 24 requesting full custody of her son. The Brazilian born actress also included texts with her estranged husband to highlight their bitter relationship.
“I’d like to be there alone with Julius. Please Friday all day and night through Sunday morning,” Baccarin wrote.
Chick responded, “I’d like to run Fox Studios and remake The Sound of Music w an entirely black cast of hip hop artist.”
This entire situation is not funny to me,” Baccarin told the judge.
The judge ruled that the pair will share joint custody of their son although he will stay mostly in New York with his mother. Chick will be allowed to visit Julius once a month for eight days at a time.
McKenzie confirmed that he will be a father by retweeting a sweet post from his sister, Camille Schenkkan.
“Couldn’t be happier for @ben_mckenzie and @missmorenab,” she wrote. “Welcome to the family, Morena! Also…I’M GONNA BE AN AUNT.”
