30 an au Samuel Ruth Samuel Ruth, 57, a longtime salesman of wholesale electrical supplies, died Friday in his Homewood home. For the last 12 years, he had worked for All-Type Electrical Supply 3557 S. Halsted St. Visitation and memorial services will be held from to 4 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at 5903 Burr Oak Berkeley.

Mr. Ruth is survived by his wife, Fay; three sons, Steven, Douglas and Kevin; two grandchildren; and two sisters. John J. McGuire John J. McGuire, 77, of Northbrook, died Saturday at Highland Park Hospital.

Mr. McGuire was president and chairman of the board of Colonial Hospital Supply 3350 N. Kedzie Chicago, which he founded in 1952. Mr. McGuire is survived by his wife, Virginia; 2 sons, John Jr.

Dennis; a daughter, Patricia Louis; 11 grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 1809 Wahrens Northbrook. Mildred H.

Melehan Services for Mildred H. Melehan, 59, of Downers Grove, will be held at a.m. Monday in the chapel at 301. 75th Downers Grove. Mrs.

Melehan, who died Saturday in Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, George Jr. and James; 2 daughters, Barbara Stopka and Laura Barry; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Helen Watson; a brother and a sister. Rudolph J. Guttosch Mass for Rudolph J.

Francis Hospital there. He was born in Chicago and served as a U.S. Navy public information photographer in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Guttosch was chairman of the board and president of Kranzten Studios at 612 S.

Clinton St. Mr. Guttosch is survived by his wife, Jeanne; five sons, Thomas, Daniel, James, Rudolph and Robert; one daughter; and three grandchildren. Morris B. Rossman Services for Morris B.

Rossman, 63, a liquor salesman on the city's Northwest Side, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the 2644 Central Ave. Mr. Rossman, of Niles, died Thursday at Rush-PresbyterianSt. Luke's Medical Center.

Mr. Rossman is survived by Virginia; one daughter, Rochelle Balaban; two grandchildren; one brother and one sister. William J. Kenny Services for William J. Kenny, 70, a former truck driver, were held in Chicago.

Mr. Kenny, of Midlothian, died Wednesday in Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Harvey. Survivors include his wife, LaVerne; four sons, John, Edward, and William; two daughters, Grace and Maureen; and two grandchildren. John N. Crawford Services for John N.

Crawford, 77, were held Saturday in Chicago. Mr. Crawford, a Southwest Side resident, died Sunday in Luke's Medical Center. He was al self-employed insurance broker and a postal employee. Surviving are his wife, Julma; a son, John a daughter, Margaret Jordan; and two grandchildren.

Roesch, retired steel executive PITTSBURGH William R. bRoesch, who began in the steel business as a mechanic and to president and chief executive officer the United States Steel has died after a long illness. Mr. Roesch, 58, died Friday night in Pittsburgh's Montefiore Hospital. Mr.

Roesch, who retired as U.S. Steel president in September also was former chairman executive officer of Jones and Laughlin Steel former president and chief executive officer of Kaiser Industries and former vice chairman and chief executive officer of Kaiser Steel Corp. Mr. Roesch became U.S. Steel president April 24, 1979, succeeding David M.

Roderick, who became chairman. Roderick said Mr. Roesch helped U.S. Steel recover from the industry's worst slump since the Great Depression. "BILL ROESCH'S efforts helped to better equip U.S.

Steel to occupy a leading position in the highly competitive steel markets that are emerging as domestic and world economies begin to improve," Roderick said. Mr. Roesch joined U.S. Steel Feb. 15, 1978, as executive vice president of steel and domestic raw materials.

His first steel industry job was as a mechanic with Jones and Laughlin in 1946. In 1965, became vice president of facilities planning, engineering and construction. Jones and Laughlin him president 1970 and elected him chairman in 1971.
