Getafe has officially announced the sacking of manager Quique Sanchez Flores, who was sacked after a loss at home to Almeria and goalkeeper David Soria's harsh words toward his teammates. The latest events would have precipitated the club's decision.
“Getafe Club de Futbol, SAD and Quique Sanchez Flores terminate their contractual relationship. The Madrid-native coach and his coaching staff are no longer part of the club. The Club thanks them for the commitment and professionalism they have shown since their arrival at the club, and for their dedication at all times.”
Quique Sanchez Flores has recently left the Getafe bench to make it the eighth team to change coach in the current LaLiga Santander season. However, Quique leaves Getafe as the third coach with the most games in the club's history with 119 official matches summarized in 37 wins, 36 draws and 46 defeats. He is ahead of only Jose Bordalas with 212 and Fernando Sierra with 188.
