Girl with Balloon von Banksy in MUCA Ausstellung in München

Banksy Solo Show "CUT & RUN - 25 Years card labour" in Glasgow

For the first time in 14 years, Banksy presents his first official solo exhibition. The show, entitled "CUT & RUN - 25 Years card labour", is currently on view at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow, Scotland.

Banksy has created new versions of famous works from his entire career for the exhibition using original stencils. On display, for example, is "Kissing Coppers", two British policemen kissing. Banksy first applied the motif to the wall of a pub in Brighton in 2004.

Mobile Lovers" from 2014 is also a new edition of a work that originally adorned walls in Bristol, Banksy's presumed hometown. The work depicts a couple embracing, each checking their mobile phones at the same time.

Famous Banksy shred of "Girl with Balloon" on view

In addition, visitors to the GoMA can admire a model of the shredder construction with which Banksy destroyed his sold painting from the series "Girl with Balloon" (from which one copy is currently on display at MUCA) live at a Sotheby's auction in a media-effective action in 2018.

With "CUT & RUN", Banksy wants to offer visitors an insight into the entire process of creating his works. In addition to the new versions of his works, created with original stencils, sketches by Banksy are therefore also on display.

The exhibition in Glasgow can be seen until 28 August 2023.

For all Banksy fans who can't make it to Glasgow: The current MUCA anniversary exhibition presents several works by the street artist, including his installation "Vandalised Phone Box" from the famous intervention in Soho Square in 2005.
