Rich, were the timing right, I'd be all over this. To anyone reading this, Rich has a truly fine example here, from first-hand experience. It even smells like an MG ought to!

Sort of Eric,Like any good British car as soon as I put it up for sale it started having issues. One of the springs on the clutch driven plate has started rattling at idle (which drives me nuts!) so I am going to replace the clutch over the winter. The intent is to put it back up for sale in the spring although I would offer potential buyers a better price in the meantime.

Rich, I'd be very interested in the car after the clutch replacement and next spring. a 96 would hit the 25 year mark and a bill of sale is all in need in Georgia. I don't know the aspects of $$ to bring it in to the US from Canada though. Any experience with this? Let me know your thoughts.Larry

Larry, Unfortunately it was built in March 1997 so it will be a couple of years for you to import. I have only ever brought cars the other way over the border and that was easy. It was just a matter of having theproper documents for customs and paying tax. Shipping down to the USA may be different but the CBP web site should have details.Cheers, RichBTW: The I have taken the MGF on a couple of good test drives after doing the work and it is running great. As we are staying at home now I am doing some polishing.

Love it! Maybe Darn-old Trump will decide the 25 year rule is an infringement on our liberties down here.

For anyone interested in this MGF I have reduced the price to $10,000 Canadian until the end of 2020 in an effort to move it.This is primarily for Canadians but if an American has storage in Canada until March 2022 I will be happy to sell it to him/her.If the car hasn't sold by January 2021 I will put it into storage until 2022 when it will be eligible for US import and the price will return to $10,000 US.Please note that when sold it will come with the rare alloy hardtop, all of the new spares that I have and what used spares will fit in the car. If the buyer wants the large used spares (Parts gearbox, rear bumper, factory hardtop shell, snows on MGF wheels) they are welcome to them but crating/skidding and shipping is up to them. Thanks for reading, RichCar is sold as-is, where-is and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

Hi Rich - did it move yet? If you still have it when getting close to March 2022, please let me know.

Rich, I'd also be interested in the car when legal to import to US. I've got to check if California will be more difficult than other states...

Hi Larry, I do still have the MGF. I have just insured it for the summer as my ZT is out of commission.I do have one Canadian interested but he can't get here until covid restrictions are lifted. If the car's status changes I will post it hereThanks, RichA note for anyone interested: The site where I had my photos hosted has closed down. I am looking for an alternative and will have something sorted out soon. In the meantime I would be happy to send photos of the car by e-mail.
