It's getting hot! Damn hot!🔥🌡📈 A large-scale heat wave has enveloped large parts of Asia during the past two weeks, breaking longstanding records. On Monday, Prayagraj in India reached 44.6°C. Bangladesh also saw temperatures exceeding the 40°C mark, with weather historian Maximiliano Herrera warning, "It will just get worse." In China, temperatures have exceeded 35°C in multiple provinces; on Monday, more than 100 weather stations broke their monthly high temperature records. Heat records fell in a dozen Chinese provinces. On April 15, Thailand set its highest temperature on record for any month, marking the first time the country has exceeded 45°C when Tak, in the country's northwest, rose to 45.4°C. Herrera called this event the "worst heat wave in Asian history" given its footprint, severity and timing, encompassing at least a dozen countries. What are we doing to reduce global carbon emissions?🤔 Germany in the past week shut down its last 3 nuclear power plants, which I find to be highly unwise, since nuclear plants by themselves do not produce carbon emissions. What about reforestation projects around the world? Brazil has committed to reforestation of 12 million hectares (the size of Germany) by 2030, while China has increased its forest cover by over 60 million hectares between 1990 and 2020. Is the world doing enough on climate change? What say you, fellow keyboard warriors? 👇⌨️ Do you think we are? Or do you - like me - say HELL NO we're not? Too bloody hot lah
Singapore is on her way to planting another million trees by 2027 - 3 years ahead of the initial planned 2030. This is of course just a small part done by a small capital city. Hopefully, we can do more and bigger things on a global scale. And yes... it's been too hot 🔥 to bear but on a brighter note, it gives everyone an opportunity to say "I'm hawt!" 😄
Stephen Tan More cold showers ....
Snowed here yesterday
Was in UK for last 6-weeks - news was full of ‘surprise’ arcitc blizzards - although the MSM choice of words as always was somewhat alarmist - but it was colder than I had hoped and was expecting at times. Swings and roundabouts I guess 😉
I think our population net increase still is almost 200.000 per day (mostly in countries doing nothing for climate change) so it's very hard to stop the warming althouhg we have some good new inventions
We can always do more! 😊
Yes, it’s very hot and humid and the temperature is nearly 40 degrees Celsius.

1yThe biggest problem right now is when you post about this topic and some denier comes out of the woodwork and screams bullsh*t. How the heck can you make progress if we don't go beyond agreeing to disagree.
