The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has decided to prohibit surrogate advertising, with franchises being informed of the government's decision at the Lahore Governing Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday. Surrogate advertising, where foreign companies rebrand using news coverage, became prevalent in PSL 8, raising concerns. The government has now imposed a complete ban on surrogate advertising, leading the PCB to include the matter on the council meeting agenda. Franchises will be directed to comply with the government's instructions, and the meeting will also address the finalization of the event's venue and dates, proposed between February 8 and March 24. #PSL #Advertising #Surrogate #Pakistan

It is illegal to place advertisements for cigarettes or other tobacco-related products which includes advertisements in Newspapers, TV Ads/Radio Ads, Online Ads, etc. Such Ads may include banners on buildings, distribution of pamphlets, handbills, or other types of documents. 📣 Hot on the heels of the successful UKVIA Forum 2023, UKVIA Director General John Dunne appeared on BBC Reporting Scotland Late News last night to address the issue of youth vaping. Earlier yesterday Scottish MPs were told that there had been a ‘massive increase’ in youth vaping in the country with a recent survey suggesting that one in four 15-year-olds vaped. John said e-cigarettes should be celebrated for helping so many adult smokers quit but warned that more must be done to prevent vapes being used by children. 5moWelcome news and just wanted to add the real definition of "Surrogate advertising" for people confused like myself i.e. Surrogate advertisements are essentially a substitute advertisement for the goods which cannot be directly advertised due to the prohibition of law, the goods that form the corpus of such prohibition are: tobacco products, Alcohol, Narcotic substances and other such products.
