“There is only one fully traditional Latin-English handmissal in print for laypeople. This is Dom Gaspar Lefebvre’s [not to be confused with Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre] edition of The Saint Andrew Daily Missal with Vespers for Sundays and Feasts and Kyriale. It is the most complete traditional missal in print." As quoted from one of the most widely read traditional Catholic web sites.
Reprint of the 1945 edition Contains over 1900 pages 5 colored ribbon markers Complete with Vespers and the Kyriale A beautiful narrative of each feast day for the Liturgical year Gold colored page edges Special section devoted to the Sacraments (in English with Latin along side)
Very good commentary on the Sunday Masses. I also like the Sunday Vespers that is included in the missal. However, I do wish that Saint Bonaventure Publications would have re-formatted the missal a bit. Apparently the 1942 common Mass of a Pope and the 50s revised Mass of the Assumption came out after the missal was first published. Instead of being integrated into the main part of the missal, the original publisher simply put both Masses at the back of the missal, with nothing in the main text to indicate that these changes had been made. (The feast of St. Pius V, for example, still calls for the common Mass of a Confessor Bishop.) Also, if there is a commemoration on any day, the propers for the commemoration are listed separately from the main Mass, meaning I'd have to flip back and forth.
I will always be reading parts of this book and my only real complaint is that I didn’t know about it sooner and it doesn’t come in a larger print. My middle-age eyes apparently need reading glasses! I especially love the section of feast days that have a little write up for each Saint on the day.
