The 007 star turned heads everywhere as he stepped out with wife Rachel Weisz on Thursday

Daniel Craig has well and truly left the dark and rugged appearance synonymous with Bond behind him.

Two years on since his swansong as 007 in No Time to Die, Craig and his wife Rachel Weisz attended the Clooney Foundation For Justice's event The Albies on Thursday in New York.

The pair sent heads turning as they stopped for photos outside the New York Public Library.

Weisz was all smiles as she posed in a black and white patterned dress while Craig donned a slick navy dinner jacket.

However, it wasn't their outfits that had people talking but rather Craig's all-new hairdo.

The 55-year-old opted to sport blonde locks fashioned into a sophisticated and sleek quiff.

To complete his new look, Craig also wore a pair of fashionable wire-rimmed spectacles as he too smiled at onlookers and paparazzi.

Craig and Weisz rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood's biggest names alongside the foundation's founders, George and Amal Clooney.

Also in attendance was talk show host John Oliver, actor Sofia Vergara, fashion icon Donatella Versace, rapper Mary J Blige, and model Heidi Klum among a number of other A-listers.

It was a rare outing for Weisz and Craig who tend to keep their marriage out of the limelight, last being spotted at Wimbledon together this summer.

Since leaving the role of Bond behind him, Craig has gone on to star in Glass Onion - the second instalment in the Knives Out franchise.

He'll reprise the role of Benoit Blanc in the already-announced third film in the series, but when it comes to Bond, fans are still none the wiser as to who'll be stepping into the void left by Craig.

A number of names have emerged in the race to play Bond next - from Marvel stars to even ex-Premier League footballers.

However, bookies appear to have whittled down the frontrunners to a select few actors, all of whom have starred in some of the world's biggest TV shows and films.

At the time of writing, Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is leading the race with odds of 5/2 from Paddy Power.

However, he's closely followed in the market by Snowfall actor Damson Idris who's been priced at 11/4 to take over from Craig.

Bridgerton heart-throb Rege-Jean Page and Superman actor Henry Cavill are also tipped to bag the role, with both priced at 4/1.

Happy Valley's James Norton remains an outside punt to land the part at 9/2, although he may have a vastly different role in the pipeline according to reports.

Norton's emerged as the frontrunner to take on the part of Phillip Schofield in a TV series about the This Morning scandal, although it's yet to be confirmed if the series will get off the ground.
