Kentish Plover - Charadrius alexandrinus

The Kentish Plover is a common coastal resident, particularly favouring the dry mud bunds that divide commercial salt pans. Fairly plain in winter plumage but the summer male is dapper with chestnut cap and a narrow, black patch on side of breast. Sexes separable.
