This beautiful Functional Shirasaya Katana is meticulously made by hand using T10 Clay Tempered Steel.

The Shirasaya is a full tang that is held in place underneath the handle by two bamboo Mekugi pins (double pegged) for an added security.

To keep your sword protected against damage and corrosion, it is best to store this in a specialized storage called Shirasaya.

T10 steel is one of the finest and most durable materials for sword-making. It is well-known for its durability and resistance against damages.

The blade of the Katana is differentially hardened using a process called clay tempering, giving the blade a beautiful temper line (Hamon).

The blade comes with a full-length Bohi that lowers the sword’s weight, which results in a faster blade and helps make the Shirasaya simpler to use for Kenjutsu, Tameshigiri and laido.

The total length of the Functional Shirasaya Katana blade is 72 cm, while its width is 3.2 cm. The length of the handle is 27 cm, and the overall weight of the sword is 1.69KG.

To keep the Shirasaya in top condition and also safe when not being used, a Rosewood Saya With Buffalo Horn (scabbard) is supplied. The Saya is created to the perfect shape of the blade to help perform laido, which is all about taking the sword and striking in just one movement.

Mild gapping between tang and handle interior Asked for razor sharp while this arrived functionally sharp. Inscription was done beautifully and CS was exemplary all the way up to delivery, questions afterwards have gone unanswered. IDK if I'd trust her thrusts outside of kata discipline and solo training sessions but she is definitely beautiful. Heavy. Shipped quickly.
