Protecting Your Watercolors.

A watercolor is an original work of art, made from paint and water, applied usually to paper.Delicate, both in technique and in character, a watercolor is susceptible to environmental and handling hazards.
1. watercolors should be kept out of direct light and protected by a sheet of filtered glass or acrylic. They should also be mounted in acid-free mat board to keep the paper from discoloring over time.Keep a gap between the glass and artwork.
2. Choose where you hang your work carefully.Avoid areas of humidity (such as bathrooms and kitchens) and places that will experience extremes of hot and cold, such as just above radiators, or on the inside of exterior walls.

Protecting Your Oil and Acrylic Paintings.

All oil and acrylic paintings should be framed. The frame is more than decorative, it also serves as an additional support. It's essential to choose a frame for structure as well as esthetic appeal.

DO NOT use cleaning products or water to clean your painting.
The simplest way to clean your painting is to dust it, lightly, with a soft, dry brush or a soft feathered duster. Make sure the brush you use is made of soft bristles. Make sure there is no paint or moisture on the bristles before you take it to your artwork. Softly swipe away dust off the artwork.

Also avoid direct sunlight.
