The Algarve’s most famous Marina received the accolade last week by the Portugal Travel Awards 2023

Vilamoura Marina was named the “Best Portuguese Marina” at the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2023 gala, held on July 6 at Montebelo Mosteiro de Alcobaça Historic Hotel. This marks the marina’s 12th consecutive win.

This year, Vilamoura became the first Portuguese marina to receive the 5 Gold Anchor Platinum certification, the highest distinction awarded by the association, with only 11 marinas worldwide holding this certification.

“It is with enormous pride that we receive this award, not only because it recognises that we are the best marina in Portugal. But also, because it is awarded by a panel of judges specialised in tourism and the general public itself, taking into account the quality of the facilities and services rendered”, stated Isolete Correia, Vilamoura World Administrator.

Vilamoura Marina was recognised for its high level of customer satisfaction, quality of nautical services, and support equipment, which constitute examples of success.

Currently, Vilamoura Marina holds the title of the largest marina in Portugal, with 825 berths, and was a pioneer in the recreational boating scene in the country. It has a fully equipped shipyard and a professional sailing training centre. This is also the site of national and international sailing events, such as regattas, training camps for Olympic sailing teams, and the International Boat Show.

This award also follows Vilamoura Marina’s sixth award from The Yacht Harbour Association as “Best International Marina of the Year” in 2022.
