American actor Masters is best known for playing the British vampire Spike in the hugely successful WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as the spin-off show Angel.

The pair got engaged after Marsters romantically proposed to Rahman in Trier, Germany in May 2010, where she is said to have been studying fashion.

He told People Magazine in 2006 about their meeting, saying: 'I met her backstage and got her phone number, but then my jeans were cleaned out by the crew and they threw it out.'

He continued, 'I'd given her my number, but she took down one digit wrong. It took her six months to call all of the different combinations.'

Marsters was previously married to Liane Davidson and the pair share a son, Sullivan, 24.

The actor ended his marriage to Davidson in 1997 after eight years together.

Arguably Buffy's one true love interest, the character of Spike has proved to be an iconic role for Marsters, who is fondly remembered by fans as the bleached blonde blood sucker.
