Susan Boyle, best known for her rousing performance in 2009’s “Britain’s Got Talent,” will soon be making a special theatrical appearance. According to BBC News, the 50-year old mezzo-soprano will give a guest performance in “The Susan Boyle Story,” a new musical set to premiere at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the musical about my life story,” commented Boyle. “(I am) very much looking forward to stepping on stage and performing with the cast.”
Leading the cast is actress Elaine C. Smith, playing Boyle’s part after starring in the BBC show “Rab C Nesbitt” and appearing in the UK stage adaptation of “Calendar Girls.”
The new musical will tell the story of Boyle’s legend, from her humble beginnings in a small Scottish village to her rise as a YouTube sensation and multi-platinum selling artist after her appearance on Simon Cowell‘s show.
