The former Sunderland manager has a tattoo on his right arm with the slogan 'DVX', a nod to former fascist leader Benito Mussolini.
Di Canio's far-right political beliefs have been known for a long time, but the former West Ham striker tended to wear long sleeved shirts on television to cover his tattoo.
However, the Italian appeared on a video on Facebook Live in a polo shirt, exposing his tattoo.
The television channel said: "We made a mistake. We apologise to all people who felt hurt by this".
