Gigi and Bella Hadid exemplify all things glamour—the sisters are runway regulars at fashion weeks worldwide, are photographed rubbing shoulders with A-list celebrities on the regular, and have graced the covers of magazines since they were teenagers. (Their mother, Yolanda Hadid, has the floor-to-ceiling kitchen-wall display to prove it.) But despite these facts, both Hadid sisters like spending time away from the spotlight to stay grounded, often retreating to Yolanda’s farm in Pennsylvania, where they garden, ride horses, and make home-cooked meals together.

“The family farm is where I get away,” Gigi told Vogue Australia in 2018. “My little kitchen is my happy place. I cook almost every day I’m here.” The pair—and their younger brother Anwar—grew up playing outdoors as kids in Santa Barbara, so being in nature is instinctual; it’s also likely a welcome respite from their busy lives in New York City, where they now live and work. Over the years, both Gigi and Bella have laid down roots in the city, never more than a 15-minute walk apart from each other—below, we’ve rounded up all the places they’ve called home.

Shortly after she turned 21, Gigi paid $3.97 million for a two-bedroom two-and-a-half-bathroom apartment in NYC’s NoHo neighborhood. The 2,085-square-foot unit is located in a trendy building designed by Selldorf Architects and features colorful, eclectic decor that perfectly complements the sleek, modern design of the space. Materials used throughout the luxury home include lacquered Italian millwork in the chef’s kitchen and marble tiling in the primary suite bathroom. Eight-foot casement windows with mahogany sills let in copious amounts of natural light. Gigi has shared little glimpses into her apartment via social media over the years, and some of her treasured pieces include artwork by Eamon Harrington, a Roche Bobois Mah Jong sofa by Missoni Home, and basket wall art above her headboard in the bedroom. Gigi still owns this property.

One year later, Gigi and Bella’s mother reportedly bought an apartment in the stylish Four Seasons Private Residence by Robert A.M. Stern Architects to be closer to her daughters. (This, after she sold off her sprawling $19 million Malibu mansion and $5 million Los Angeles condo.) The Tribeca property is located in one of the tallest residential towers in downtown Manhattan and features all the amenities one could hope for—a private dining room with catering, a screening room, and a 75-foot pool with adjacent steam rooms, among others. The former model hinted at the East Coast move in a post to Instagram, showing her stunning city view with the caption: “Windows to my new world … close to the ones I love.”

That same year, Yolanda purchased a $4 million farm in Pennsylvania. There, the family spend quality time together, harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables, caring for and riding horses, and generally slowing down their fast-paced life. “Sometimes in order to find peace, you have to disconnect from people, places and things that no longer inspire you or grow your soul in order to live in your highest consciousness,” Yolanda once shared. It was also in Pennsylvania that Gigi delivered her baby girl Khai in 2020, in the nearby farmhouse that her then partner Zayn Malik purchased in 2018.

Gigi expanded her holdings in NoHo with the purchase of a $5.82 million town house in the same building where she already owned an apartment. The newly renovated duplex features three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms spread across 2,955 square feet, as well as a 770-square-foot private terrace with its own outdoor fireplace and kitchen. Similar to her other property, the town house—the only one in the Selldorf-designed building—boasts marble slab countertops in the kitchen and custom mahogany millwork in the primary suite bathroom. At the time of her purchase, it was reported that Gigi had plans to combine her new purchase with her existing unit for a mega home for her growing family.

Around that same time, younger sister Bella and her then beau The Weeknd began renting a 5,004-square-foot penthouse suite in a celebrity-favorite building in Tribeca for about $60,000 a month. The on-again, off-again pair had split in 2016 but began seeing each other again in 2018, and news broke that they had moved in together. The unit featured a flexible four-bedroom layout, four and a half bathrooms, and a private outdoor space. Celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Rebel Wilson, and Meg Ryan own homes in the ultraprivate building. Amenities included a Turkish bath, indoor pool, wine room, and a 5,000-square-foot landscaped rooftop terrace, where The Weeknd threw Bella a birthday bash.

The following year, Bella dipped her toes into the NYC real estate market with the purchase of a $6.1 million SoHo penthouse. The building itself dated back to 1877 and was previously a silk showroom. The converted condos retained much of the historic details, including brick barrel-vaulted ceilings, round steel beams, and exposed ductwork. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit measured 2,180 square feet, with an additional 779 square feet of outdoor space via the private rooftop deck. Modern features made the space industrial chic, including Italian built-in closets, a glass-walled wine room tucked under a floating steel staircase, and a large black marble island in the kitchen. Bella ultimately didn’t hold onto the place for long, however, listing it for $6.499 million in early 2021 and selling it for exactly that price just one month later.
