People Think Lili Reinhart Looked Just Like Brittany Murphy at the 2018 Met Gala

It's completely understandable and acceptable if you weren't able to focus on anything other than the bright shining moment that was Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse's red carpet debut as a couple at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday night. It was a glorious moment that the world will not soon forget. However, if you were miraculously able to look past Bughead as a duo and home in on Lili alone, you may have noticed something else about the Riverdale star's first-ever Met Gala appearance: that she looked just like Brittany Murphy.

It makes sense — both actresses have big, almond-shaped eyes, glowy skin, blonde hair, and huge smiles. Plenty of fans pointed out the striking resemblance between Lili and Brittany, who died from pneumonia at the age of 32 in 2009. "I keep doing double takes at Lili Reinhart photos thinking it's Brittany Murphy," one person tweeted. Others took it a step further, putting forth a (TBH pretty convincing) conspiracy theory that either Lili is the reincarnation of the Clueless star.

Lili and Brittany's doppelgänger status is actually nothing new. Fans have been tweeting about their resemblance for months now, and last fall, Lili even acknowledged how much she looks like the late actress. In October, when a BuzzFeed reporter asked Lili who her celebrity twin was, she responded, "Everyone says Brittany Murphy — everyone. They think I'm her reincarnated. There are a lot of pictures of us side by side where we look crazy–alike. If you just google Lili Reinhart and Brittany Murphy, you'll see it." Seriously, Google it, and prepare to be blown away.
