NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Overclocked To A Record-Breaking 3.93 GHz Frequency, Fastest On The Planet 1

The world record for the fastest GPU frequency has been achieved by overclocker, CENS, using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.

Overclocker CENS Achieves 3.93 GHz Frequency With NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Card On GPUPI, 4.0 GHz Milestone Closer Than Ever

The GPU frequency record has reached 3.93 GHz, significantly improving from the previous 3.825 GHz frequency. CENS has secured first place in HWBOT’s GPUPI ranking, with a good margin from its nearest competitor OGS which has achieved 3.84 GHz frequency. The overclock was achieved on a custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card showcasing Ada's high clock speeds which excel beyond anything that's previously released.

For those unaware of GPUPI, the software calculates the mathematical constant Pi in parallel by utilizing the BPP formula, optimizing it for CUDA devices such as graphics cards. This differs from your traditional benchmarking software since it doesn't involve any kind of 3D rendering.

CENS achieved the frequency with a record-breaking 46 seconds and 383 ms score. The exciting part is the variant used to achieve this milestone. CENS used the Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 4090 LAB edition. Diving into the details of the variant, the GPU's clock speed is rated at 2235 MHz base and 2625 MHz boost, while the card has a peak TDP of 515W & requires a single 16-pin connector to boot.

The PCB is a custom design that uses 24+4 VRM design to deliver the best and most stable overclocking to the GPU core and the memory. The iGame RTX 4090 LAB edition is one of the higher-end variants of the RTX 4090 lineup, and CENS has indeed extracted its potential. One thing to note is that HWBOT’s GPUPI ranking makes it evident that NVIDIA's RTX 4090 is the dominating GPU, and AMD is seen nowhere.
