In 1885 Waterlooplein Market became a day market, open daily but obviously closed on Saturdays. Waterlooplein flourished as a day market where really everything was for sale. The real Jewish Waterloo market disappeared in 1941 due to jewish persecution. The market recovered after the war, but will never been the same.
