Actor Ellen page announced on Twitter that she was transgender and changed her female name to her male name, Elliot page,
“My friends, I want to share with you that I am transgender. You can call me” he “or” them. My name is Elliot. I feel very lucky to write this down, and I am very grateful to the people who have supported me on this journey. It’s wonderful to finally love myself as I am and pursue my true self. I have been infected by many transgender groups. Thank you for your courage and generosity to make the world more inclusive. I will do my best to support others and strive for a more loving and equal society.

In February 2014, Page exposed his homosexuality at that time, and he has been an active voice of LGBTQ rights. Page has previously starred in “hard candy,” “Juno,” “inception,” and Netflix’s “Umbrella Academy,” and won an Oscar nomination for “best actress” in 2008.

Page said that he was also “afraid” of the hatred and violence brought about by this, but it was more important to love myself. “I love that I am a transgender, and I am a queer child. The more I can accept myself, the better I can dream, the better my heart can grow, and the more I can steam. To those who face daily harassment, self-loathing, abuse, and violence: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything I can to make the world a better place.

At present, websites such as Wikipedia, Netflix, and IMDB have changed the name of Ellen Page to Elliot Page and the pronoun from “she” to “he” or “them”.
