Antique Sailor’s Folk Art Knot Board, circa 1880s, an intricate and elaborate array of approximately 41 bends, hitches, knots, splices, rigging and other fancy ropework. This is the most diverse and comprehensive knot board we have had, and probably the earliest.
The lines remain in excellent condition, mounted on their original backboard in it’s simple oak frame. Everything has darkened nicely to well show it’s age.
