So, How Do You Like Your Boobs?

Women in bras

We Stylists have lots of tricks up our sleeves to help you dress in a way that highlights what you’re proud of and camouflages what you’re not so keen on.

When it comes to our boobs, women can have very different attitudes. Some will regard an ample bosom as a blessing and be happy to  show it off whilst others may be embarrassed and not want to draw attention to it.  Likewise, not every small-breasted woman wants to look bigger.

Choose from the guidelines below to help you make your bust look bigger or smaller – your choice!

Large breasts

If you want to minimise the appearance of large breasts:

Avoid:

  • High necklines – if you need to wear one, break up the breast area with a a longish necklace
  • Breast pockets and detail
  • Sleeve lengths that finish in line with your bust peak
  • Full/puffy sleeves
  • Boxy tops that hang straight from your bust
  • Shiny fabrics

Embrace:

  • Soft fabrics that drape beautifully round your curves
  • Darker colours
  • Shawl collars rather than sharp lapels on jackets
  • Chunkier necklaces or multiple strands
  • V necks
  • Flared skirts and bootleg trousers to balance your bosom

Small breasts:

If you want to make your bust look a little larger:

Avoid:

  • Low necklines which tend to highlight your lack of bosom
  • Very clingly tops (if you are very flat chested, rather than just small-ish)
  • Oversized necklaces which will make your bosom look smaller in comparison

Embrace:

  • High, gathered or pleated necklines
  • Scarves or delicate jewellery, to add a little bulk
  • Breast pockets
  • Prints
  • Frills/ruffles
  • Layering
  • Fabrics with some sheen or texture
  • Padded bras!

Whatever your shape or size though, the most important thing is to make sure you get expertly fitted for a bra. It can do wonders for your silhouette, comfort and self-esteem.
