Yarrow has soft, fern-like foliage. Because it spreads underground, it can make a nice groundcover in sunny locations--for the same reason, use caution when planting in a flowerbed.

Seed:  Harvest seed July/August. Much of the seed is ready to germinate. A cold, moist stratification of at least 2 to 4 weeks will increase germination. The tiny seeds need light to germinate, so don't bury them.
  • At least 200 seeds per packet
  • 178,250 seeds per ounce
  • 1 ounce per 6,000 square feet (yields ~30 seeds per square foot)
