This is a pretty cool flea market. Much more of a shanty feel than some of the other outdoor markets in the neighborhood.
There is a good variety of knick knacks for the average shopper and the hearty stoner.
It can get very crowded and hard to navigate but mid week is much better. (Wednesdays)
They don't have many food vendors but if you need a watch, belt, or some scarves, this is your place.

Waterlooplein is basically a flea market for stoners. They have all kinds of weed paraphernalia. They've even got weed goodies, like lollipops, chocolate, and ice cream, just to name a few.

Unlike Dappermarkt or Albert Cuypmarkt, Waterlooplein does not have any food stands. They do have souvenirs and a lot of secondhand stuff for sale. I managed to nab a (working) Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet record for just 3 euros!

I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews! In my opinion, this open air market is better than Albert Cuyp. Sure, there are a few kitschy/stoner booths, but there were plenty more vendors selling antiques, vintage clothes, handmade items, and other true flea market treasures. I snagged a cool denim shirt for €3 and had to talk myself out of purchasing a few vintage sweaters for €5 each. All the vendors I spoke to were very friendly and polite; I didn't feel like they were trying to rip me off at all! There are also a bunch of pay-by-weight thrift stores lining the streets, so be sure to stop inside of those too if you're hunting for deals.

The only disadvantage compared to Albert Cuyp is that there aren't as many places to eat around here. But the neighborhood is really calm and cute, so eat in advance and take a stroll around!

This open-air-market is quite interesting. It reminds me of a big flea market on Venice. There are countless stalls selling a significant amount of different things. You name it and they got it! If your into second-hand vintage, touristy items, or unique handmade products, then it's all here. I love stopping by this market to purchase some of my handcrafted jewelry . I always find beautiful and unique jewelry here, with a wide selection of prices and styles.

It's an ideal place to browse and walk around on a sunny afternoon. Plus you will run across some of the most interesting people here too. However, when your browsing, please make sure to hold on to your wallet because it's the perfect place for greedy criminals to operate as a pickpocket destination. Although, I do believe Amsterdam is very safe, still be "smart and careful" with your belongings. These open-air-markets are popular destinations for pickpocket because people tend to focus their attention more towards the goods on sale, instead of on the thieves who are in action.

This market has a fantastic diversity of stalls with so many different things. Lots of clothing. A huge variety of t-shirts, outfits and such. And antiques galore.
I get socks here every trip. This trip I found some neat puzzles for the grand kids and a few extra things for me. Like most markets, it's always changing and growing with a special diversity of it's own. You can get stuff here you wouldn't see at other markets.
The food stall are not that special. But if you want to walk away with something different to take home. This is the place.

It's nice that the have a market over here cause else it would be a cold empty space, but it's not the kind of market that you would expect if you don't know what it is.
Most of them are selling old stuff secondhand what means most of the stuff looks rubbish to me. But the atmosphere is good and it's funny to see some typical old pirates selling their things.

Wandering around Amsterdam by myself I was eager to find flea market to pick up little trinkets to take the friends and family back home. As I yelped something to do I realized I was a few minutes away from this market and stopped by. I caught them just as vendors were closing up so I had to be quick was able to find any good deals with very friendly vendors that were willing to barter with prices. If you find yourself in this part of Amsterdam I do recommend stopping by and doing some shopping and getting some snacks.

I did quite a bit of shopping in Europe but didn't enjoy the usual chains as much as I did vintage and flea shopping. This is the catch-all of all flea markets in Amsterdam. There are tons of vendors that sell EVERYTHING, including handmade jewelery and toys, new clothing, second hand/vintage clothing (great prices on leather!!) toys and goods, tourist trinkets, cowhide bags and other accessories shaved from woods and bones of animals, used dvds/cds, the list can go on and on!

Grab a coffee at one of the coffee shops (a real coffee drink shop) that border the flea market and browse. Bargaining is essential here. Be patient and don't pay more than what you think it's worth. Some of the finds for the price you pay are phenomenal but some of them will try to take advantage of you if you don't speak Dutch! My friend found a second-hand Burberry trench in great condition in his size for 30 euros... although it was buried underneath a pile of crap. I didn't have the same luck but got tons of goodies for all of my friends at home and myself for less than 30 euros. Overall, the most memorable shopping experience in Amsterdam.

If you need a bicycle chain lock - this is your place. Lots of very used stuff like one stall with two tables of "used" wallets. Question: if I find my "lost" wallet there, do I get a discount?

This is a huge flea market though not as large as Albert Cuyp. You can find new and used clothing here, clothing accessories, books, bike accessories. jewelry, used electronics and more. It's a great place to browse and buy that certain something. It's located next to city hall.
