Beautiful and inspiring visit to these caves. It all started 5 million years ago and these were only discovered by accident by a group of friends in 1959, they are now one of Spain's major tourist attractions. Nerja is a fantastic little seaside town and a must visit for these caves, the beaches, great local cafeterias, wine and ice cream. We stayed there in Nerja for around 3 nights, in between work visits, and I'm so glad to have discovered this gem. I would love to visit the Caves again next time. Highly recommended!

Visited these amazing caves earlier this year during a road trip. (Easter to be more accurate).
Luckily our hotel in Granada had served the worst breakfast and coffee ever, meaning we were back on the road almost before sunrise ... Resulting in an early arrival at the Nerja Caves. About 9.15 a.m. There were just a few tourists present, however, at the parking lot, there were also two giant busses ready to let people out. We rushed to the ticket office to get ahead of them.
We got out tickets immediately. As we left the ticket office we spotted even more busses. The line behind us, as we were done, had grown from two meters to about 100 meters long.
Even though we had an early arrival we had to wait until the 11 a.m.-group to get in. There is a cafeteria and also a gift shop, so the wait was not bad.
Before entering the caves there is an information video shown. This also happens during the wait. Being not Spanish, we were equipped with some translation gear with ear buds.
Throughout the walk there were several stops and our guide was really good.
The cave itself is just amazing. You'll have to go see for yourself.
Just be aware of the enormous amount of tourist busses and be there before 9.30 a.m. to avoid spending the whole day waiting in line to get tickets and then again for the tour.
As we left the place, the line for the tickets had grown to be endless, and with more busses constantly arriving, we realized we wouldn't ever have seen the caves if we had arrived any later that day....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
