Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Akutami Praises Season 2 Episode 3's Fight Animation

Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami has praised the fight animation in Season 2 Episode 3. The episode, which aired on July 20, 2023, featured a battle between Satoru Gojo and Toji Fushiguro. Akutami took to Twitter to show his appreciation for the episode's animation, noting that he was impressed with the use of 3D direction and key animation.
“Thanks for Season 2 Episode 3!” Akutami wrote (via @soukatsu_ on Twitter). “I get the strong sense that this season has a lot of 3D direction and key animation!! I think it has really become an indispensable skill in the animation industry!! A great era for anime!!”
Akutami also commented on Fushiguro's speed, saying that he “Has a thing for faces in acceleration smears.” Acceleration smears are a technique used in animation to depict the blur of motion when a character is moving at high speeds.
