On Thursday, April 21st, Fogo de Chão celebrated the grand opening of its new Coral Gables location with members of the community present.

The new 280-seat Brazilian restaurant is located at 2801 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, anchoring the new Plaza Coral Gables complex.

The restaurant’s exquisite cuisine was showcased at the grand opening, along with the incredible service by its entire staff.

A visit to Fogo de Chão will present you with a unique experience in Coral Gables, where you will enjoy all delicious meat offerings at your favorite temperature served to you straight from the grill. An incredible market table with fresh salad, fruit and vegetable offerings and an ambience that will have you wanting to spend the night. And don’t forget to save room for dessert!

A welcomed addition to this location, is the Butchery, a first for Fogo de Chão. At the Butchery, patrons will be able to purchase their favorite meats, wine or charcuterie, and take them to go, grill and enjoy in the comfort of their home.

A portion of the proceeds from Fogo de Chão’s first week will go to Feeding South Florida, an organization focused on ending hunger.

“We’re proud to have been a part of the Miami-Dade area for the past 14 years and look forward to bringing our latest innovative experiences to The Gables,” said Barry McGowan, Chief Executive Officer of Fogo de Chão. “As we continue to grow our brand globally, it’s important that we serve and support our local community in the best way we know how- by feeding them. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Feeding South Florida, who helps bring hunger relief to so many families throughout the area.”

Here is Fogo de Chão’s official announcement with more details on their new restaurant:

“Today, Fogo de Chão, the internationally-acclaimed restaurant from Brazil that allows guests to make culinary discoveries at every turn, opens its new location at 2801 Ponce de Leon Blvd in Coral Gables, FL. The restaurant is in the newly-developed Plaza Coral Gables — an all-in-one hospitality, shopping and entertainment destination just steps away from the coveted Miracle Mile.

A portion of first week’s sales will be donated to Feeding South Florida®, benefitting the nonprofit’s dedication to end hunger in the greater Miami area and beyond. The expansive 280-seat dining room is anchored by an open-air churrasco bar where guests can dine while watching gaucho chefs showcase the culinary art of churrasco as they butcher, prepare and grill different cuts of meat over an open flame. Fogo’s seasonal Market Table welcomes guests to discover fresh salads and soup, exotic fruits, vegetables, imported charcuterie and more.

The new restaurant showcases dry-aged meat lockers for in-house aging, soaring wine cases displaying South America’s finest varietals, natural wood finishes and dramatic chandeliers across a vaulted ceiling. Overlooking the dining room is The Next Level Lounge, an exclusive lounge located on the mezzanine level of the new restaurant providing an elevated bar experience for guests to unwind with a variety of South American wines and a premium whiskey and bourbon menu.

  1. One thing is for sure, FOGO DE CHAO will be a great new advertiser account for GABLES INSIDER.

  2. Thank you, Jim Cason, for this MASSIVE development and the attraction of chain restaurants.

  3. That whole Plaza development project is massive and out of scale with the rest of downtown.
Another example of how the developers buy off the Commissioner’s and Mayor as they did with the Paseo project on U. S. 1. That is why the incumbent Commissioners have such expensive television advertising every election and an honest challenger does not have a chance. They sell out for their personal gain the Gables character and historic charm to mega-developers.

  4. Fogo de Chão? Brazilian rodizio? In 2022? Really? All you can eat beef? If this were 1985 then it would be news as that was the height of rodizio but some 40yrs later it seems like an anachronism. Just goes to show how provincial Coral Gables really is, pretending some old hat is the latest fashion. It also shows what kind of traffic the Plaza project hopes to attract, namely South Beach in the Gables, glitz and glam and bling. In the meantime our streets are full of pot holes, Biltmore Way remains a wasteland, and parts of the downtown area look like a third world country.

  5. Aureliano is so right!

Similarly, I read that when Whole Foods arrives to a community, some celebrate but in reality there’s no good food/ produce/ agriculture nearby

  6. Yet another massive chain. We are losing our character.
Ariel, PR release masquerading as news? Should have been clearly labeled advertisement.
