Figo Moro da Caneva (aka "Moro da Caneva”) is an ancient top tier fig from the small town of Caneva in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northern Italy. It is called Figo Moro for the blue-black and sometimes reddish hues color that the very thinly veiled, slightly cracked skin takes on during the last phase of ripening: in Italian, "moro" means "dark." Its red pulp, light, delicate and tasty flavor made it a delicacy on the tables of Venetian nobility and the special qualities of this fig variety kept it highly sought-after throughout the centuries.
Thin skinned, cold-hardy, very resistant to rain and humidity, highly productive in lower light conditions, has great drying capabilities and is a top candidate for commercial purposes. This fig has a delicious unique figgy-fruity-berry profile, meaty texture and maintains all the characteristics of a consistently high quality fig.
Up for auction is 1 Figo Moro da Caneva cutting. It's a mid-season variety that ripens at around 80-85 days. My tree has been very vigorous and very productive. This is a proven common variety that will ripen without wasp pollination.
I took the cuttings on January 28, 2023. You will receive the cuttings in the picture. I wash, scrub and disinfect all my cuttings with a diluted bleach solution, allow them to air-dry and label them prior to shipping.
I offer combined purchases of other varieties that I have for sale at no additional cost. I can ship to the lower 48 states. No international shipping and no shipping to Hawaii or Alaska.
Please bid with confidence, as I guarantee my varieties to be true to type and you will get the cuttings pictured. I am MARCO on the Ourfigs and GrowingFruit forums. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
