Description

O novo estádio do Sporting Clube de Portugal, da responsabilidade do arquitecto Tomás Taveira, localiza-se numa zona contígua à do antigo estádio, José Alvalade. Na sua construção, as condições acústicas não foram esquecidas, para que a tradição de receber concertos musicais continue. Tem capacidade para 52 000 lugares sentados e recebeu da UEFA a classificação de cinco estrelas. A área envolvente não foi descurada, englobando zonas de habitação, comércio e serviços. A propósito da realização do Euro 2004, foram agendados para este estádio os jogos (da fase de grupos) Suécia - Bulgária, Espanha - Portugal e Alemanha - República Checa, para os dias 16, 20 e 23 de Junho, respectivamente, e também o jogo dos quartos-de-final França - Grécia, realizado a 25 de Junho, e a meia-final que opôs Portugal e Holanda, num confronto ocorrido a 30 de Junho de 2004. <a href="http://www.infopedia.pt/$estadio-alvalade-xxi">www.infopedia.pt/$estadio-alvalade-xxi</a>
