In June the French company announced a joint venture with the German firm NSU-Motorenwerke, Neckarsulm, called "Comobil", with headquarters in Geneva to develop a vehicle with a wankel engine.
Since autumn all models become available with seatbelts.
With 374,755 vehicles manufactured in 1964, the Citroën company ranks second among French manufacturers, behind the Régie Renault (more than 420,000) but ahead of Peugeot and Simca.

Yet another variant on the Citroen self-levelling suspension theme has been announced by the British Concessionaires. This is the ID Super, which is basically an ID with the addition of power-assisted steering and brakes, a revised fascia, more powerful engine (75 b.h.p. at 4,500 r.p.m.), reclining front seats and various other luxury items. The new car costs £t,437 compared with £t,298 for the normal ID. Other models in the range are unchanged.

Mocniejszą wersję 2 CV AZAM najłatwiej odróżnić po chromowanych nakładkach na zderzakach i małych kołpakach na kołach. Od stycznia dostępne są opcjonalne pasy bezpieczeństwa. W lutym przełącznik kierunkowskazów znalazł się na kolumnie kierownicy. W marcu zmieniono tylne światła a w czerwcu zaczęto montować bezdętkowe opony.
W grudniu zmieniono oś obrotu przednich drzwi.
Although 15 years old the 2CV still enjoys great admiration from the public. The more powerful version AZAM is distinguishable by chrome bumper overrides and a small wheel hub caps.
January: Seatbelts are optional on 2CV. For this the chassis and body have been modified.
February: Indicator control on the steering column.
March: Rear lights with integrated license-plate light.
June: Tubeless tires and modified rims.

W zaprezentowanym w październiku w Paryżu DS 19 Pallas wprowadzono dodatkowe, drogowe reflektory halogenowe, ozdobne listwy na drzwiach i progach, inne kołpaki kół, bezpieczną szybę przednią i lepsze wyposażenie wnętrza.
ID ma nową deskę rozdzielczą i dwubiegowe wycieraczki. Moc najsłabszego silnika ID zwiększono do 75 KM. Kombi wyposażane są w 83 konne silniki z DS.
For 1964 the DS and ID continued as before.
In August the smallest ID engine output was increased to 75 b.h.p. It has modified head and carburettor. Dashboard has been modified yet again and become even more like on the DS. All ID and DS adopted a wiper system with parallel arms with two-speed control, and station wagons gained an exterior mirror.
The DS 19 Pallas launched at Paris Show has an additional front fog lamps, new wheels hubs and stainless steel exterior finish. Interior is more sophisticated with better upholstery and optional leather.

Liège-Sofia-Liège route, or 6,000 km of roads, some of which are infernal in Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. 85% of the entrants give up and Citroën remains the only brand lining up four cars among the first twelve at the finish (the DS-19s from Neyret-Terramorsi ranked fifth overall, Verrier-Coltelloni ranked seventh, Bianchi-Ogier ranked eleventh and of Richard-Laurent classified twelfths). Citroën will thus win the Constructors' Cup for the third consecutive year, further bringing to France the Trophée des nations.
