In the North Atlantic: from the North and Baltic Seas to the Mediterranean and from Massachussets and Rhode Island to Florida and the West Indies; in the South Atlantic: off South Africa and off Argentina; in the North Pacific: from Bering Sea to Baja California on the east, eastern Siberia and Japan on the west, and off the Hawaiian and Midway Islands; in the South Pacific: from the Bismarck Archipelago (New Ireland) to Australia and New Zealand on the west, off Chile on the east; in the Indian Ocean: from South Africa to Australia.

zu sehen und leben in
offenen, tiefen Ozeanen, wo
sie lange und tief tauchen.
Der Cuvier-Schnabelwal ist die
häufigste Art, wird gelegentlich
bei Japan gefangen, ist aber
wohl nicht bedroht. Nahrung: Kalmare, Tiefseefische.
